Debates on the United States Midterm Elections

On November 6, the Valdai Club conference hall hosted debates on the midterm Congress elections, which took place the same day.

The US-Russian relations are at a record low since the Cold War. The upcoming midterms can hardly change the situation for the better. But it depends on the winner, who will be decided on the first Tuesday of November, whether bipartisan consensus on containing Russia will strengthen and if new economic sanctions can be avoided.

Speakers:

Dmitry Suslov, Deputy Director at the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies, National Research University Higher School of Economics

Maxim Suchkov, Senior Research Fellow, Center for International Processes Analysis, Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Editor of Al-Monitor (USA)

Moderator:

Ivan Timofeev, Programme Director of the Valdai Discussion Club
