He was employed by different think tanks and government institutions in Turkey and abroad in the area of the Russian-Eurasian studies. He is the author of two books: 20. Asrın Casusluk Şebekesi: Cambridge Beşlisi (The Cambridge Five: The 20th-Century Spy Ring) and Yükselen Asya'da Şanghay İşbirliği Örgütü: Dünü, Bugünü ve Yarını (The Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the Rising Asia: Past, Present, Future). Currently he continues his postgraduate research at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. As a BRICS Energy Association representative in Turkey, he has a command of Russian and English.

Turkey and BRICS: Closer Cooperation?

Turkey was invited to the latest BRICS Summit held in Johannesburg under the framework of "BRICS +" initiative as Chair of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), not as a separate country. It would not be very supportive to make predictions that there will be closer cooperation between Turkey and BRICS from now on. Actually, in order to make realistic evaluation of Turkey’s possibility to join BRICS, it is useful to analyze objectively the positive and negative aspects of this assumption in terms of both parts.
