Previous positions: lecturer of the first in the USSR and Russia department of political and social sciences, at the Lomonosov Moscow State University (1985-1992); State Duma deputy (1993-1995). Author of the federal laws On Political Parties, On Public Associations and a number of others. Member of the Presidential Council on Youth Policy. 1992-1997: political observer for Komsomolskaya Pravda, editor-in-chief for Novaya Gazeta, program director for ViD Television Company. 1993: awarded the Person of the Year title in the political journalism category by the Russian Biography Institute. 1998-2009: head of the Analysis Department at Channel One, executive producer of news reporting for TVC Channel, head of the Analysis Department at Zvezda TV Channel, managing editor for Senators Club (Rossiya Channel), member of several expert councils in the State Duma and the Federation Council. Author of around ten monographs and over 300 research papers.
