The end of World War II in 1945 marked one of the most significant moments in world history, not only changing the global political map but also having a major impact on the countries involved, including Indonesia. The war, which lasted from 1939 to 1945, involved two major alliances: the Axis (Germany, Italy, and Japan) and the Allies (England, France, the United States, and the Soviet Union).

Indonesia’s joint military training with Russia is not a means by which it rejects America and its allies, but rather the affirmation of Jakarta’s active politics with every country in the Asia Pacific.

Indonesia, which has tens of thousands of islands and archipelagos, has been known for hundreds of years as a maritime country. Indonesia's geographical position in the tropics, located at the crossroads between two continents (Asia and Australia), and two oceans (Indian and Pacific), certainly has economic potential and presents strategic opportunities related to the development of the marine industry which, if explored, can become a national economic strength.
