Strategic Depth in Syria: From the Beginning to the Russian Intervention

The author examines evolution of the crisis since its origin up to nowadays. This article has been prepared before Russian Su-24 jet downed.
It is obvious that this incident led to escalation in the bilateral relations, and many of the conclusions of the article may now seem overly optimistic. However, in the current situation, it seems particularly important and interesting to show basic principles of the Turkish strategy in Syria, very clearly highlighted by the author.
