In a crumbling world, a world without an obvious balance of power, the time has come for power politics. Although the attempt to “cancel” entire countries has failed, diplomacy and negotiation practices remain in critical condition. Instead, Western states practice pressure and launch sanctions against undesirable countries.

However, the limitations of this approach are already visible – the dense international environment forces us to reckon with it, pointing to signs of an emerging polycentric world order.

A new understanding of complexity of the modern world will allow many to move away from perceiving reality as a black and white paradigm. Will this give diplomacy a new chance?
